Possible Causes

Blown fuse on one phase, Loose phase conductor at motor terminal block, Faulty contactor in Speck control panel, Supply issue from three-phase distribution board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Only qualified persons should work on three-phase circuits. Isolate and lock out the supply before opening any panel.

Inspection steps:

  • Check upstream fuses: In the main distribution or Speck control cabinet, test all three fuses feeding the pump. Replace any blown fuse with the correct rating.
  • Inspect contactor: If the pump is controlled via a contactor, check for burned contacts or a stuck pole. Replace the contactor if one phase is not passing voltage.
  • Verify terminal connections: Open the motor terminal box and confirm L1, L2, and L3 are tight and free of corrosion. Tighten loose screws and clean terminals.
  • Measure phase-to-phase voltage: With power ON (by a qualified electrician), measure L1–L2, L2–L3, and L1–L3. All should be within tolerance and balanced.

If phase voltages are correct and E04 persists, the internal drive electronics of the Speck variable-speed controller may be faulty and require replacement.
