Possible Causes
Water ingress into motor terminal box, Damaged insulation on motor winding, Crushed or cut supply cable, Moisture inside Speck control box
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Risk of fire or electric shock.
Inspection steps:
- Visually inspect the supply cable from panel to pump for cuts or crushed sections. Replace if damaged.
- Open the motor terminal box and check for water, corrosion, or loose strands touching the casing. Dry thoroughly and correct wiring.
- Open the Speck control box (if fitted) and look for moisture or burned components.
Testing:
- With the pump disconnected, see if the breaker still trips. If not, the fault is in the pump or its wiring.
- Insulation resistance testing of the motor windings to earth should be performed by a qualified electrician.
Replace the motor if insulation resistance is below acceptable limits.
