How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and close suction and return valves. Drain the pump before disassembly.
Seal replacement:
- Remove the pump housing from the motor and take off the impeller.
- Extract the old mechanical seal components from the impeller and seal plate.
- Clean the seal seat surfaces thoroughly.
- Install a new genuine Speck mechanical seal, ensuring the ceramic and carbon faces remain clean and are not touched with bare fingers.
Reassemble the pump, prime it, and check for leaks. Avoid running the pump dry to maximize seal life.
