Possible Causes
Blocked airflow around drive housing, High ambient temperature, Failing internal cooling fan (if equipped), Thermal compound degradation between drive and heat sink
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool before servicing.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the Sta-Rite drive/control housing is not enclosed tightly. Provide at least several inches of clearance and avoid stacking equipment around it.
- Clean vents: Use a soft brush or compressed air to clear dust and debris from any ventilation slots on the control housing.
- Check for direct sun: If the drive is mounted in direct sunlight, add shading or relocate to a cooler, shaded area per Sta-Rite guidelines.
- Inspect internal fan: If your model has an internal fan, listen for its operation when the pump runs. A non-spinning or noisy fan should be replaced.
- Reset and monitor: After cooling and cleaning, restore power and run the pump at a lower speed initially. If E07 recurs quickly, the drive module may have an internal thermal fault and require replacement.
