Possible Causes
Pump not primed, Broken impeller hub, Disconnected motor shaft from impeller, Closed valves on suction or return
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before opening the pump or moving valves.
- Verify valves: Ensure all necessary suction and return valves are open.
- Prime the pump: Fill the Sta-Rite pump strainer housing with water, reinstall the lid, and restart. Watch for water filling the pump and filter.
- Inspect impeller connection: If the motor runs but no water moves, disassemble the wet end and check that the impeller is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not broken at the hub. Replace a damaged impeller.
- Check for airlocks: In systems with high points, bleed air from filter air relief valves to restore flow.
