Sta-Rite pool pump vibrates excessively and may move on the equipment pad during operation.

Possible Causes
Pump not securely anchored, Uneven or cracked equipment pad, Cavitation due to suction restriction, Imbalanced impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before adjusting pump mounting.
- Secure mounting: Ensure the Sta-Rite pump base is bolted to the pad using appropriate anchors. Tighten loose bolts.
- Level the pump: Use shims to level the pump base if the pad is uneven. A level pump reduces vibration and stress on plumbing.
- Eliminate cavitation: Check for suction restrictions (clogged baskets, closed valves) and air leaks that can cause cavitation noise and vibration. Correct as needed.
- Inspect impeller: If vibration persists, disassemble the wet end and inspect the impeller for broken vanes or debris causing imbalance. Replace a damaged impeller.
