Possible Causes
Loose power cord connection, Faulty GFCI plug, Incorrect voltage supply, Internal control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Do not bypass the GFCI plug or use damaged cords. Water and electricity are hazardous.
- Check outlet: Plug a known-good device (like a lamp) into the same outlet to verify power. Reset the house breaker if needed.
- Inspect GFCI plug: Press the RESET button on the Summer Waves GFCI plug. If it will not reset or trips immediately with no load, the plug may be defective.
- Inspect cord: Look for cuts, crushed sections, or melted insulation on the pump power cord. Do not use the pump if damage is found.
- Try a different outlet: Use another properly grounded outdoor outlet on a different circuit (no adapters). Avoid power strips.
- Restart: If E5 persists with a good outlet and intact cord, the internal control PCB may be faulty and the control head or entire pump assembly may need replacement.
