Possible Causes
Loose hose clamps on suction side, Cracked suction hose, Damaged pump lid O-ring, Low pool water level allowing vortexing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the pump before loosening any hose connections.
- Check water level: Raise the pool water level so the intake fittings are well submerged and not drawing in surface air.
- Inspect suction hose: Look for cracks, pinholes, or flattened sections. Replace damaged Summer Waves hoses.
- Tighten clamps: Ensure all hose clamps on the suction side are snug but not crushing the hose.
- Service lid O-ring: Remove the pump lid, clean the O-ring and groove, and apply a thin layer of pool-safe silicone lubricant. Replace the O-ring if cracked or flattened.
- Re-prime: Fill the pump housing with water, reinstall the lid, and restart. Observe for reduction in bubbles.
