Possible Causes
Seized impeller or bearings, Low supply voltage, Failing internal start components, Overheated motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the pump before inspection. Do not repeatedly attempt to start a clicking motor.
- Check for mechanical binding: Remove the strainer cover and basket, then try to rotate the impeller by hand. If it is stuck, clear debris or replace the motor assembly.
- Verify voltage: Plug directly into a known-good outlet without extension cords.
- Cool down: Allow the motor to cool for 30–60 minutes and try again. Persistent clicking indicates internal failure.
- Replace motor: If the motor will not start and only clicks, replace the motor assembly.
