Safety First: Unplug the pump before opening the filter housing or disconnecting hoses.

• Clean the filter cartridge: Remove the Summer Waves cartridge from the housing and hose it off thoroughly between each pleat. Replace if the media is torn or heavily stained.
• Check intake fittings: Inspect the pool wall intake screen and skimmer for leaves, toys, or algae buildup. Clean with a soft brush.
• Inspect hoses: Straighten any kinks in the suction and return hoses. Replace hoses that are flattened or collapsing under suction.
• Open return fittings: Ensure any adjustable return nozzles are not closed or pointed directly at the wall, which can restrict flow.
• Re-prime and test: Reassemble, fill the pump housing with water if accessible, and restart. Observe the strength of the return jet.
