Safety First: Unplug the pump before servicing the filter.

• Replace cartridge: Install a new Summer Waves filter cartridge if the old one is more than a few weeks old under heavy use or appears stained and deformed.
• Increase run time: Run the pump 8–12 hours per day during heavy use or hot weather.
• Check cartridge seating: Ensure the cartridge is properly centered and the housing seals are intact so water cannot bypass the media.
• Water chemistry: Balance pH, chlorine, and alkalinity. Poor chemistry can overwhelm the filter.
