Drive Over-Temperature / Electronics Overheat
U.S. Motors digital pool pump shows E07 and shuts down shortly after starting, especially in hot weather or when running at high speed.

Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around drive enclosure, High ambient temperature at equipment pad, Failing cooling fan inside drive module (if equipped), Drive mounted in direct sunlight without shade
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing any covers. Electronics can remain hot; allow time to cool.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the U.S. Motors drive/control housing. Remove leaves, dirt, or obstructions blocking vents.
- Inspect cooling fan: If the drive has an internal fan, remove the cover and verify the fan spins freely and runs when the pump is operating. Replace the fan if seized or not running.
- Reduce ambient heat: Provide shade over the equipment pad or relocate the drive out of direct sun if possible. Avoid enclosing the pump in a tight, unventilated box.
- Lower operating speed: Temporarily reduce maximum RPM or duty cycle in the controller settings to reduce heat generation.
- Reset after cooling: Allow the drive to cool completely, then power cycle and clear E07. If the error recurs quickly under normal conditions, the temperature sensor or drive module may be failing.
