Possible Causes

Stuck or welded internal relay contacts, Failed relay coil on drive board, Excessive inrush current damaging relay, Board trace damage feeding relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before opening the drive enclosure.

  • Listen and observe: When attempting to start (with cover on), listen for relay click. If E14 appears with no click, the relay coil or drive circuit may be open. If it clicks repeatedly, contacts may be failing.
  • Visual inspection: Remove the cover and inspect the relay on the U.S. Motors control board for discoloration or cracking. Check surrounding traces for burns.
  • Check motor current: Excessive current can damage relays. Verify the motor is not overloaded or locked (see E04/E08 steps) before replacing the board.
  • Replace control board: Internal relays are typically not serviceable separately. Replace the entire pump control board/drive module if E14 persists and relay damage is evident.
