U.S. Motors pool pump leaks at the clear lid on top of the strainer housing; air bubbles may be visible under the lid.

Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump lid.

• Inspect O-ring: Remove the lid and examine the O-ring for cracks, flattening, or chemical swelling. Replace if damaged.
• Clean sealing surfaces: Wipe the lid groove and pump housing sealing surface clean of sand, leaves, or scale.
• Lubricate O-ring: Apply a thin coat of pool-safe silicone lubricant to the new or existing O-ring to improve sealing and ease of installation.
• Reinstall lid: Seat the O-ring properly, place the lid, and tighten evenly by hand or with the locking ring. Do not overtighten.
• Prime and test: Fill the strainer housing with water, start the pump, and check for leaks or air bubbles under the lid.
