Possible Causes
Pump not properly primed, Broken impeller hub or stripped threads, Loose impeller on motor shaft, Severe suction air leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump.
- Prime the pump: Remove the lid, fill the strainer housing with water, reinstall the lid, and start the pump. Observe if the basket fills and flow is established.
- Check for air leaks: Inspect lid O-ring and suction fittings for leaks as described in suction air leak troubleshooting.
- Inspect impeller attachment: If the motor runs but no water moves, remove the pump housing and verify the impeller is firmly attached to the motor shaft. Replace the impeller if the hub is cracked or threads are stripped.
- Reassemble and test: Reassemble with new gaskets as needed, prime, and verify normal operation.
