Possible Causes
Failed or disconnected temperature sensor (if equipped), Sensor wiring damage, Incorrect sensor placement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before handling any sensor wiring.
- Locate sensor: Identify the Waterway temperature or freeze sensor connected to the pump control (often mounted near the equipment pad).
- Inspect wiring: Check for cuts, rodent damage, or loose connections at the sensor and control board terminals.
- Check resistance: With power off, disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance with a multimeter. Compare to the Waterway chart for the current temperature. An open or shorted reading indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace sensor: If readings are out of range, replace the sensor with the correct Waterway part and secure it in the recommended location away from direct sunlight.
