Possible Causes
Major control board failure, Internal firmware corruption, Shorted motor windings detected at startup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and do not repeatedly attempt to restart a pump with a critical fault.
- Basic inspection: Remove the control cover and inspect the control board and motor wiring for obvious shorts, burnt components, or melted insulation.
- Check motor windings: With power off and wires disconnected, measure resistance between motor leads and from each lead to ground. Very low resistance or continuity to ground indicates a shorted motor.
- Isolate components: If possible, disconnect the motor from the control board and power up the board alone. If E15 still appears, the board is likely at fault. If the error clears, the motor may be the cause.
- Replace failed assembly: Replace the defective component (motor assembly or control board). In many cases, replacing the complete motor/drive assembly is the most practical solution.
