Possible Causes
Loose power connection at terminal block, Failing motor thermal overload, Overheating due to poor ventilation, Intermittent timer or relay contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before tightening any electrical connections.
- Inspect and tighten terminals: Check all line connections at the Waterway pump, timer, and breaker. Tighten any loose screws.
- Check for overheating: Feel the motor casing after it shuts off (carefully). If very hot, address ventilation and load issues as in the overheating section.
- Bypass timer (test): Temporarily bypass the timer or automation relay to see if the pump runs continuously. Replace faulty timers or relays.
- Replace motor if needed: If the internal thermal overload is cycling due to age or internal faults, replacing the motor assembly is recommended.
