Possible Causes
Flattened or cracked lid o‑ring, Debris on sealing surface, Lid not tightened evenly, Warped pump lid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the pump before removing the lid.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Remove the Waterway pump lid and o‑ring. Clean the groove and mating surface thoroughly.
- Inspect o‑ring: Check for cracks, flat spots, or stretching. Replace with the correct Waterway lid o‑ring if any damage is found.
- Lubricate o‑ring: Apply a thin coat of silicone‑based pool lube to the o‑ring to help it seat and seal properly.
- Install lid correctly: Seat the o‑ring evenly, place the lid, and tighten the locking ring or clamps evenly by hand. Do not overtighten.
- Test for leaks: Restart the pump and observe the lid area. If leaking persists, the lid may be warped and require replacement.
