How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power, close valves, and relieve pressure before opening the pump.
- Open pump housing: Remove the Waterway pump housing bolts and separate the housing from the motor.
- Inspect impeller: Check for broken or missing vanes, cracks, or foreign objects lodged in the impeller. Remove any debris.
- Check impeller tightness: Hold the motor shaft at the rear and attempt to turn the impeller. It should be firmly threaded onto the shaft. Tighten gently if loose (usually reverse thread).
- Inspect diffuser: Examine the diffuser for cracks or missing pieces that could rattle. Replace if damaged.
- Reassemble and test: Reassemble the pump with a new shaft seal if the impeller was removed. Run the pump and listen for remaining noise.
