Possible Causes
Debris in impeller causing imbalance, Pump not securely bolted to pad, Misaligned plumbing putting stress on pump, Worn motor bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before touching the pump or plumbing.
- Check mounting: Ensure the Waterway pump base is firmly anchored to the equipment pad with appropriate bolts or anchors.
- Inspect plumbing alignment: Look for rigid PVC lines that are forcing the pump out of alignment. Add unions or flexible couplings if necessary to relieve stress.
- Clean impeller: Open the pump housing and inspect the impeller for debris that could cause imbalance. Clean thoroughly.
- Check bearings: Listen for bearing noise and check for shaft play. If bearings are worn, replace the motor assembly.
- Test operation: After corrections, run the pump and observe vibration. Minor vibration is normal; excessive movement indicates remaining imbalance or mounting issues.
