Possible Causes
Disconnected RS-485 cable, Incorrect address or ID setting, Damaged communication port, Power off at pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to automation and pump before working on low-voltage wiring.
- Verify pump power: Ensure the Zodiac pump has line power and its local display (if present) is on.
- Check RS-485 cable: Inspect the cable between the automation system and pump for cuts, rodent damage, or loose terminals. Re-terminate if necessary.
- Confirm addressing: In the automation menu, verify that the pump address/ID matches the setting on the pump (if configurable).
- Test with short cable: Temporarily connect the pump to the automation panel with a short, known-good cable to rule out wiring issues.
If AL0 persists with good wiring and power, the communication port on the pump or automation board may be defective.
