Possible Causes
Closed valves, Blocked suction, Air in system, Faulty flow sensor input to automation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before opening the pump or filter.
- Open valves: Confirm all suction and return valves are in the correct open positions for normal circulation.
- Clean baskets and filter: Empty skimmer and pump baskets and clean or backwash the filter to restore flow.
- Prime the pump: Manually prime the Zodiac pump by filling the strainer pot with water and restarting.
- Check flow sensor: If the automation uses a separate flow sensor, inspect its wiring and orientation in the plumbing.
Once flow is restored, clear the alarm at the automation panel. If AL1 recurs with good flow, the sensor or automation input may need service.
