Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.
- Power reset: Turn the range breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1 returns immediately, the fault is likely in the control or keypad.
- Check for stuck keys: Press each keypad button firmly and individually. If any button feels stuck or unresponsive, the touchpad membrane may be shorted.
- Inspect control connections:
- Pull the range forward and remove the rear console cover (or front bezel on some models).
- Locate the electronic oven control (EOC) and keypad ribbon cable.
- Unplug the ribbon cable, inspect for corrosion or burns, clean gently with isopropyl alcohol, and reseat firmly.
- Isolate keypad vs. control: With power OFF, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly:
- If F1 appears with the keypad disconnected, the EOC is defective.
- If F1 does not appear, the keypad/touchpad assembly is defective.
- Replace failed component: If testing points to the EOC, replace the electronic control board. If testing points to the keypad, replace the control panel/touchpad assembly. Transfer wires one at a time to the new board to avoid miswiring.
If you are not comfortable working around live circuits or removing the control panel, contact a qualified appliance technician.
