Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, obstructed fan blade, open motor winding, defective convection relay on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the oven back panel or interior fan cover.
- Listen for operation: When convection is selected, you should hear the convection fan. If silent, proceed to inspection.
- Inspect fan blade: Remove the interior fan cover and check for obstructions (foil, food debris) preventing rotation.
- Test motor: Access the fan motor from the rear. Spin the shaft by hand; it should move freely. Test for continuity across the motor terminals. Replace the motor if open or seized.
- Check control output: If the motor is good, test for voltage at the motor terminals when convection is on (by a qualified person). If no voltage is present, the convection relay on the EOC may be faulty and the board will need replacement.
Do not operate convection mode with a stalled fan; this can overheat the motor and control.
