Possible Causes
Open bake heating element, burnt element terminals, failed bake relay on EOC, broken wiring to bake element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before touching any internal components. Heating elements operate at high voltage.
- Inspect bake element: Look inside the oven at the bake element (bottom). Check for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks. If damaged, replace the element.
- Test continuity: Remove the rear panel or pull the element forward from inside the oven to access terminals. Disconnect wires and test the element with a multimeter; an open reading indicates a failed element.
- Check wiring: Inspect wires and terminals for burns or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged connectors with high-temperature terminals.
- Control relay: If the element and wiring are good but no voltage is supplied during bake, the bake relay on the EOC may be defective and the board will need replacement.
Do not bypass safety devices or operate the oven with exposed wiring.
