Possible Causes

Open oven temperature sensor, broken sensor harness, loose sensor connector at EOC, corroded terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing panels or handling wiring.

  • Access the sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor inside the oven cavity (usually on the rear wall, upper area). Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
  • Test sensor continuity: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. If the reading is infinite (open circuit) or far outside the 1000–1200 Ω range at room temperature, replace the sensor.
  • Check harness: If the sensor tests good, inspect the wiring harness from the sensor to the control board. Look for breaks, burns, or loose plugs. Repair any damaged wires and reseat connectors firmly.
  • Test at control board: With power still off, disconnect the sensor leads at the EOC and measure resistance across the board-side connector. If the reading is open here but good at the sensor, the harness is faulty and should be replaced or repaired.

Do not operate the oven with a known open sensor circuit; temperature control will be inaccurate.
