Possible Causes
Failed relay on EOC, internal control board fault, power surge damage, poor neutral or ground connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. The control board operates at line voltage.
- Power cycle: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore. If F5 returns immediately, suspect the control board.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the backguard or front panel to access the electronic oven control board. Check for loose neutral/ground connections, burnt terminals, or discolored areas on the board.
- Check incoming voltage: With a multimeter and extreme caution (or by a professional), verify that line voltage to the control is within specification (typically 120/240 VAC). Incorrect supply can damage the board.
- Replace EOC: If wiring and supply are correct and F5 persists, replace the EOC. Label and transfer each wire from the old board to the new one individually to avoid miswiring.
Because this involves live voltage testing, many homeowners will prefer to have a technician perform diagnosis and replacement.
