Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, moisture under keypad, damaged keypad ribbon cable, failed keypad interface on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Check for stuck keys: Press each key on the touchpad firmly and release. Look for keys that feel stuck or do not click. Clean the surface with a slightly damp cloth (no excessive liquid).
- Dry out moisture: If the error appeared after a spill or heavy steam, leave power off and allow the control area to dry for several hours. Do not use heat guns directly on the panel.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover to access the keypad ribbon cable. Reseat the cable at the EOC and inspect for corrosion or damage.
- Isolate keypad vs. board: If possible, disconnect the keypad from the EOC and restore power briefly. If F7 disappears with the keypad unplugged, replace the touchpad/keypad assembly. If F7 persists, replace the EOC.
Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth first to prevent future keypad failures.
