Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, blocked cooling air vents, faulty fan relay on EOC, temperature sensor near control overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool completely before servicing.
- Check for airflow blockage: Ensure that the range has proper clearance around the back and sides. Remove any obstructions blocking the cooling vents or louvers.
- Listen for fan operation: During a bake cycle, the cooling fan should run when the oven is hot. If you never hear it, suspect a failed fan motor or relay.
- Access and test fan: Remove the rear panel to access the cooling fan assembly. Spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely. Test the motor for continuity with a multimeter. Replace the fan motor if open or seized.
- Inspect wiring and relay: Check wiring from the EOC to the fan for burns or loose connections. If the fan tests good but never receives power when it should, the fan relay on the EOC may be defective and the control board will need replacement.
Operating the oven without a functioning cooling fan can damage the control board; correct this fault before further use.
