Possible Causes
Stuck fan relay on EOC, shorted temperature sensor reading high, wiring short causing constant fan power
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control board or fan wiring.
- Allow full cool-down: Ensure the oven is completely cool. Some models keep the cooling fan running until the control area cools.
- Check sensor reading: Test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature. If it reads as if the oven is hot (low resistance), replace the sensor.
- Inspect control board: Access the EOC and look for signs of a stuck or welded fan relay (burn marks, discoloration). If the relay contacts are stuck closed, replace the control board.
- Check wiring: Verify that the fan motor is not wired directly to line voltage due to a misrepair or short.
If the fan stops only when power is cut, the issue is almost always in the control or wiring, not the fan motor itself.
