Cooktop touch controls are erratic or respond only intermittently.

Safety first: Ensure the cooktop is off and cool before cleaning.

• Clean surface: Wipe the control area with a soft cloth and mild cleaner, then dry thoroughly.
• Remove interference: Do not place pots, pans, or utensils over the control area while operating the cooktop.
• Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power and avoid touching the controls for 30 seconds to allow recalibration.
• Grounding check: Have an electrician verify that the cooktop is properly grounded; poor grounding can affect touch performance.

If symptoms persist, the touch control board may need replacement.
