Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, Sensor leads shorted together or to chassis, Zone overheated due to empty pan or blocked airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and breaker. Allow the glass and cookware to cool completely.
- Remove cookware: Take the pan off the zone and let the surface cool for at least 20–30 minutes. Restart and test.
- Inspect sensor wiring: From below, check that the sensor wires are not pinched or touching metal parts. Separate and secure them if necessary.
- Check sensor clip: Ensure the sensor is properly clipped to the glass and not pressed too tightly against a hot coil or metal bracket.
- Replace sensor if needed: If E2 returns immediately on a cold cooktop, the sensor is likely shorted and should be replaced.
Repeated overheating can damage both the sensor and the glass; avoid running empty pans on high power.
