Possible Causes
Line voltage above specification, Neutral loss in supply, Incorrect wiring of cooktop, Faulty voltage sensing on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not continue to operate the cooktop until the supply is checked.
- Measure supply voltage: Have a qualified electrician verify that the supply voltage at the cooktop is within the range specified on the rating plate.
- Check wiring: Confirm that L1, L2, Neutral, and ground are correctly connected and that there is no floating neutral condition.
- Surge protection: If E6 occurred after a storm or power event, consider installing whole-house surge protection.
- Board replacement: If supply is normal but E6 persists, the voltage sensing circuit on the main board may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
Operating on an overvoltage supply can cause catastrophic failure of the cooktop electronics.
