Possible Causes
Blocked cooling airflow under cooktop, Failed cooling fan, Overheating power module, Installation in too tight a cabinet without ventilation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing any internal components.
- Allow to cool: Turn the cooktop off and let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Restart and test. If F2 does not return, it may have been temporary overheating from heavy use.
- Check ventilation: Verify that the cooktop has the required clearance and ventilation openings as specified in the Asko installation manual. Remove any stored items blocking airflow under the cooktop.
- Inspect cooling fan: From below, remove the access panel and check that the cooling fan spins freely and is not obstructed by insulation or debris. With power restored, briefly turn on a zone and confirm the fan runs. If the fan does not run, it likely needs replacement.
- Power module check: If ventilation and fan are OK but F2 recurs quickly, the affected power module may be overheating internally and require replacement.
Do not operate the cooktop with a non-functioning cooling fan; this can permanently damage the power modules.
