Possible Causes
Shorted IGBT on power module, Shorted induction coil, Internal wiring short to chassis, Defective power board current sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn off the cooktop and switch off the breaker. Do not attempt to restart until inspected.
- Visual inspection: Remove the bottom cover and inspect the power modules and coils for burn marks, melted insulation, or a burnt smell.
- Check wiring: Look for pinched or rubbed-through wires touching the metal chassis. Repair or replace damaged wiring and secure with proper clips.
- Isolate the zone: Disconnect the suspected zone’s coil from the power module and see if the error changes when other zones are used (only if you are qualified to work on live circuits).
- Replace failed components: A shorted IGBT or burned power module must be replaced as a complete assembly. If a coil is shorted or burned, replace the coil as well.
Because F8 often indicates serious internal faults, professional service is strongly recommended.
