Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and power board, Failed temperature sensor on a cooking zone, Faulty touch control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before lifting the glass cooktop or touching internal components.
- Reseat connectors: Remove mounting screws and carefully lift the glass top. Locate the ribbon cables between the touch control and power board. Disconnect and reconnect them firmly.
- Inspect for damage: Look for burnt spots, cracked boards, or broken sensor wires on the affected zone.
- Zone isolation: If the error code indicates a specific zone (refer to your manual), disconnect that zone's sensor or element and see if the error changes. This can help identify a bad sensor or element.
- Replace faulty board or sensor: If reseating cables does not clear E1, replace the touch control board. If diagnostics point to a specific zone sensor, replace the temperature sensor / limiter for that zone.
