Possible Causes
Loose communication cable, Faulty touch control board, Failed power module, Software fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the cooktop or opening the chassis.
- Reseat communication cables: Locate the low-voltage harness between the touch control board and the power module. Disconnect and reconnect firmly at both ends.
- Inspect for corrosion or damage: Look for bent pins, corrosion, or burnt connectors. Clean or replace as needed.
- Power reset: After reseating cables, restore power and test. Sometimes a full power reset clears transient communication errors.
- Board isolation: If E6 persists, disconnect one power module at a time (if multiple) to see if the error clears, indicating a bad module. Replace the faulty power module or touch control board based on isolation tests.
