Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD) probe, Broken or loose sensor wiring harness, Faulty connection at EOC sensor terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing rear panels or internal wiring.
- Access the sensor: Inside the oven, locate the temperature sensor probe at the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to expose the connector.
- Check connector: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated and not corroded. Reseat the connector several times to clean the contacts.
- Continuity test: With the sensor unplugged, use a multimeter to measure resistance across the sensor leads. At room temperature, expect roughly 1050–1100 Ω. If the reading is infinite (open) or near 0 Ω (short), replace the sensor.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness from the sensor to the control board. Look for cuts, pinches, or melted insulation, especially where the harness passes through the rear oven wall. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Check EOC terminals: Remove the back panel to access the EOC. Confirm the sensor wires are firmly attached to the correct terminals and not loose or burnt. Tighten or clean as needed.
If the sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the EOC may be misreading the sensor and should be replaced.
