Possible Causes

Loose sensor connector at rear of oven, Intermittent break in sensor wiring harness, Failing oven temperature sensor probe, Faulty sensor input circuit on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels.

  • Reseat connectors: Access the oven temperature sensor from inside the oven and at the rear panel. Disconnect and reconnect the sensor plug several times to ensure a solid connection.
  • Wiggle test: With power off, gently move the sensor harness along its length, especially where it passes through the oven wall. If the insulation is brittle or cracked, replace the harness or sensor with harness.
  • Sensor resistance check: Measure resistance at the sensor connector and then at the EOC sensor terminals. The readings should be nearly identical. A large difference indicates wiring issues between the two points.
  • Replace suspect parts: If resistance is unstable when you gently move the sensor or harness, replace the oven temperature sensor. If wiring and sensor are stable but F4 persists, replace the electronic oven control board.

After repair, run a test bake at 350°F and monitor for at least 20–30 minutes to confirm the error does not return.
