Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Faulty door lock switch, Bent or jammed door latch, Broken wiring between lock assembly and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. If the oven is still very hot from self-clean, allow it to cool before working near the lock mechanism.
- Check for mechanical jam: Inspect the door latch area for obstructions, such as warped metal, grease buildup, or foreign objects. Gently clean and remove debris.
- Manual unlock (if door stuck): With power off, access the lock mechanism from the top or rear (depending on model). Manually move the lock arm to the unlocked position to free the door.
- Inspect lock motor and switch: Check the lock motor for signs of overheating or burning. Test the lock switch for continuity in locked and unlocked positions if you have a meter.
- Check wiring: Verify that all connectors to the lock motor and switch are tight and that wires are not broken or pinched.
- Replace lock assembly: If the motor does not operate during a lock command or the switch does not change state, replace the door lock motor and latch assembly.
After repair, test a lock/unlock cycle and confirm that F9 does not return.
