Possible Causes
Recent power outage or brownout, Loose power cord connection at terminal block, Loose neutral or hot wire at house junction box, Faulty wall outlet or range receptacle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker before inspecting the power connections at the range.
- Confirm household power: Verify that other appliances and lights on the same circuit are stable. If the home recently experienced an outage, PF is normal.
- Reset clock: Clear the PF message by pressing CLEAR/OFF or similar, then reset the clock. If PF does not return, no further action is needed.
- Inspect terminal block: Pull the range out carefully. Remove the rear cover over the power terminal block. Check that the L1, L2, and N connections are tight and not burnt. Tighten loose screws and replace any burnt wires or the terminal block if damaged.
- Check cord and outlet: Inspect the power cord for cuts or burn marks. Ensure the plug fits snugly in the outlet. Replace a loose or damaged cord or have an electrician replace a worn receptacle.
If PF occurs frequently without obvious power issues, the EOC may be overly sensitive or failing and may need replacement.
