Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misadjusted air shutter, Wrong gas type (natural vs LP) or missing conversion, Low gas pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off burners and allow them to cool. Shut off gas if removing burner assemblies.
- Clean burners: Remove burner caps and heads. Clean ports with a soft brush and ensure all holes are open.
- Adjust air shutters: Many Avanti burners have adjustable air shutters near the orifice. Loosen the screw and adjust to increase air until the flame is mostly blue with minimal yellow tips.
- Verify gas type: Confirm the range is configured for your gas type (natural or LP). If recently converted or installed, ensure the correct orifices and regulator setting are used.
- Contact gas supplier: If flames remain yellow after cleaning and adjustment, have gas pressure checked by a professional.
