Possible Causes
Failed electronic oven control (EOC), Internal relay stuck closed, Overheated control board due to poor ventilation, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the appliance from mains power before inspection.
- Power cycle: Turn off power for 10 minutes to discharge the control. Restore power and observe. If F1 returns immediately, the control board is likely defective.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the control panel area is not blocked and that hot air vents above the door are not obstructed, which can overheat the board.
- Inspect control board: Remove the rear or front control cover. Look for burnt components, darkened areas, or a burnt smell on the EOC.
- Check wiring harness: Verify that all connectors to the EOC are firmly seated and that no wires are pinched or melted near the oven cavity.
- Replace EOC: If visual damage is present or F1 persists after reseating connectors, replace the electronic oven control with the correct Bauknecht part number for your model.
Warning: The control board carries mains voltage. Only attempt replacement if you are competent with electrical work.
