Possible Causes
Blocked cooling air channels, Failed cavity overheat thermostat, Cooling fan running at reduced speed, Control board temperature sensor fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Check installation: Ensure the range or built-in oven has the required ventilation clearances specified by Bauknecht. Lack of space can cause overheating.
- Clean vents: Vacuum dust and grease from ventilation slots and around the cooling fan.
- Inspect overheat thermostat: Locate the overheat thermostat on top of the oven cavity. Test for continuity. Replace if open and not resettable.
- Test cooling fan speed: If the fan is noisy or slow, replace the cooling fan motor.
Warning: Persistent overheat errors indicate a serious ventilation or component issue; do not ignore them.
