Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Melted insulation near hot areas, Moisture inside sensor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the appliance from power before testing.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the oven sensor as for F3. Look for melted insulation or signs of the sensor touching metal surfaces.
- Measure resistance: At room temperature, a shorted sensor will show very low resistance (near 0 Ω). Replace the sensor if readings are far below specification.
- Check for shorts to ground: With the sensor disconnected, measure resistance from each sensor lead to the oven chassis. Any low reading indicates a short in the harness that must be repaired.
- Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture, dry the connector thoroughly and ensure it is protected from steam ingress.
Warning: A shorted sensor can cause overheating; do not continue using the oven until the fault is corrected.
