Possible Causes
Loose or damaged ribbon cable, Oxidized connector contacts, Failed touch panel, Failed EOC communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker before accessing the control area.
- Access control panel: Remove screws securing the front control fascia or rear cover to expose the touch panel and EOC.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Carefully disconnect the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the control board. Inspect for cracks or burnt spots. Clean contacts with electronic contact cleaner and reconnect firmly.
- Check for pin damage: Inspect the board connector pins for bending or corrosion.
- Test operation: Restore power and test. If F6 returns, substitute the touch panel if available. If a new panel does not resolve the issue, replace the EOC.
Warning: Avoid pulling on the ribbon cable itself; always grip the connector to prevent damage.
