Gas cooktop burner will not ignite, clicking sound present but no flame

Safety first: Ensure good ventilation. If you smell strong gas, turn off the gas supply and ventilate immediately.

• Check gas supply: Verify that the gas shutoff valve is open and that other gas appliances work.
• Clean burner: Remove the burner cap and head. Clean all ports with a soft brush and a wooden toothpick. Do not enlarge the holes.
• Reassemble correctly: Ensure the burner cap is properly seated and centered on the burner base.
• Bleed air: After installation, hold the knob in the ignition position for several seconds to purge air from the line.

Warning: If ignition still fails and you smell gas, stop using the cooktop and contact a gas technician.
