Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, Stuck heating relay on control board, Miswired elements after repair, Faulty thermostat (on knob-controlled models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool fully.
- Check sensor: Measure the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature. Replace if reading is very low (shorted) or out of spec.
- Inspect control board: Look for welded/stuck relays on the EOC. If the oven heats even when off, the relay is likely stuck and the board must be replaced.
- Verify wiring: If elements were recently replaced, confirm they are wired according to the wiring diagram and not directly to live without control.
- Knob models: On mechanical thermostat models, replace the thermostat if it does not cycle off at the correct temperature.
Warning: Do not use the oven until overheating is resolved; fire risk is significant.
