Possible Causes
Failed hot indicator neon or LED circuit, stuck thermal limiter on element, wiring short between indicator and live
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before accessing the hob wiring.
- Allow full cool-down: Ensure the hob has been off for several hours. If the indicator remains on, continue.
- Check limiters: Access the underside of the hob and locate the thermal limiters on each element. Test for continuity according to the wiring diagram. A stuck-closed limiter may falsely signal 'hot'.
- Inspect indicator wiring: Trace the wires from the indicator lamp to the elements and control switches. Look for shorts or incorrect connections.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the hot indicator lamp or limiter as required.
